Small trees There are some trees that just don't like the bags I am growing them in, they are the Mimosa, Paulownia and Dappled willow. They all have something in common: They have a tap root, and will not grow over 6 inches. in the bags. Those trees are shipped as 6" trees.

Coming...SoonPaulownia ElongataYes, I found the fastest growing tree in the world: The Paulownia Elongata, not to be confused with the Paulownia Tormentosa. Originally from China and Japan, this Paulownia clone (Elongata) grows 15-20 ft. in one year, lives 100 years and grows to 100 ft., This tree is not invasive. In Spring it is covered with blue/purple flowers. Its wood is hardwood whose color resembles mohogany. The wood is very much in demand in China and Japan where it is used to make furniture, musical instruments and veneer. This tree produces 2-4 times more wood than any other tree in the same timeframe. A perfectly straight knotless tree is achieved by removing the side branches every month. I will have this tree available later on this year. Notice I did not use common names here, the Internet has so many web sites claiming their Paulownia tree is the Empress or the princess or the Royal tree, Keep in mind that there are over 29 different clones, not every one of them can be called Empress, so stick to the botanical names if you don't want to get confused. I will be selling 1 ft tall trees. Look for it right here! AlsoI am growing cuttings of Salix Caprea (Low Pussy Willow) a requirement when you are making Salix Caprea Pendula or Kilmanrock Weeping Pussy willow,Salix Smithiana, a species specially used for basketry and as a rootstock to make many grafted standards such from the Salix Integra or Hakuro Nishiki - Dappled Willow. Salix triandra Black Maul - Another basketry willow - I already have some of these in stock. Salix Miyabeaum Basket Willow from Japan. Grows to 20 ft. |
